Update Number 01

First Update! A little more than a month into my challenge

So it's been a little over a month since I started the Project 💯x2 challenge in earnest, so I thought it would be time for an update :)

General Thoughts

So far, I'll rate this first month a 3/10. I think I did a decent job of working on things but not a great job at finishing things. I got a decent amount of momentum going the first few weeks, and was feeling fairly productive about it, but I moved apartments around the middle of September and it took some time to realign (Drake and Josh anyone?? 🙃)

But now that I've settled in, I'm hoping my new space will be highly conducive to my projects! I've broken down what I got done in each of my goals thus far below, hopefully this will grow with each update post (which I also hope to make more frequently).

💯 Comyx

I completed 4 comyx, have released one, and have two nearly completed that simply need captions. I need to pick up the pace on this but I feel happy with my haul for this first month.

50 Songs

I posted a short cover of one song on TikTok, but mostly I have just been working through a Logic Pro X course, which I am approximately 10% of the way through. Hopefully this will help me speed up my process for songs by learning the software in depth, as well as the terms for the industry.

25 Stories

I didn't really focus on this this month, but I am considering amending this to be 25 Creative Projects. I want this to include short literary works, but also random projects such as a board game I am working on developing with a friend. I am tentatively making this amendment now :)

13 MVPs

This one also took a backseat this month, and I just barely started a course on NodeJS and Express, technologies I've been interested in getting into for a long time.

6 Posts (per Week)

I'm intentionally leaving the term "post" ambiguous here because I want to have the freedom to create content across platforms. For now, most of my posts will be blog posts like this one, written updates, and I hope to make 6 posts per week, with a mix of expressing my thoughts and documenting my journey along this challenge. Hopefully I will be able to take large pieces of content like this and split it up into smaller, more digestible pieces on instagram, twitter, facebook, tiktok, etc. to spread awareness and hopefully have some discussions on and about this site! Additionally, this goal is intended to keep me accountable for this challenge, so I need to have something to show my audience for my work.

We'll take it slow, but this goal is intended to grow as I do :)

3 (a double feature!)

I looked into some different investments but did not pull any triggers, haven't made any concrete actions on this one, just research thus far.

3/2 Food/Exercise Cheat Days (per Month)

I definitely did not succeed on this goal, but I estimate my cheating to be primarily my exercise, especially given that I moved and was between gyms for some time. I would estimate I cheated about 75% of my planned workouts (which are 5 days a week) and about 40% of the time on my diet.

1 Book

I decided to split my book into sections to make it easier to plan, and I outlined the entirety of Section I (about 9 chapters). I also re-wrote about 2.5 of those chapters, but want to write faster as well. I think it will be apt to hold myself to about 7000 words per week (around 1000 words a day) to improve speed of development, so that I have something to revise and edit other than just blank pages.

Hope you enjoyed the update! Leave a comment below about my projects or about any progress you've made on your goals this month :)
